Good evening OLLAC families.  While navigating the capabilities of our new online registration platform (Sports Engine), the OLLAC board members and commissioners have agreed on some changes to improve the registration process.  The changes involve different fees and new volunteer options.  After much thought and discussion, below are the changes being made.

OLLAC REGISTRATION CHANGES

1. The OLLAC has eliminated the annual membership fee.  To offset this revenue, each sport has increased its fee by $10.
2. The OLLAC has implemented a $20 late registration fee to those that register after the published deadline listed above. Don’t ignore that registration email.   PLEASE REGISTER DURING THE REGISTRATION PERIOD!
   1. This helps commissioners get their rosters to the leagues on time.
   2. This eliminates the commissioner asking the registration coordinator to constantly open and close registrations.  
3. We have included a Volunteer Buy-Out option on every registration.
   1. Every family is required to volunteer 3 hours per player per registration, maxing out at 15 hours.  Every parent has an option to purchase a $30 Volunteer Buy-Out option per registration.
   2. If you choose to volunteer, don’t ignore those sign-up genius volunteer emails.

VOLUNTEER BUY-OUT OPTIONS

The Our Lady of Lourdes Athletic Club has agreed to offer an option to families that cannot fulfill their required volunteer hours for the year.  The OLLAC has a requirement that each family serve 3 hours per student athlete per sport with a maximum of 15 hours for the school year.  If a family feels that they cannot fulfill this volunteer requirement, they now have the option of paying a “Volunteer Buy-Out" fee of $30 for each player per sport registration, with a max of $90 for 3 or more players per sport registration.  The fee collected will go towards filling the "volunteer" slots needed for our concessions and tournaments.  

Example: I am registering my 2 sons for boys basketball and I want to purchase the volunteer buy out option – I will select and pay the “$60 Buy-Out for 2 players” fee in addition to the $100 total boys basketball registration fee, totaling $160.  This will cover my 6 required volunteer hours for signing up 2 boys for basketball.

This Volunteer Buy-Out "membership" will last from April through March.  Families that do not fulfill their required volunteer hours, nor pay the Volunteer Buy-Out fee will have their accounts suspended for the following fall registration until the fee is paid.
